Week 39 in Class R

Class: Reception Year: 2023 - 2024

Wow! What a fun, final week Reception have enjoyed. Thankfully, the summer sun has finally got his hat on, and we have been really enjoying our last few days as Reception children in the sunshine.

We began the week by reflecting on our time as Reception pupils and thinking about what we would like to achieve in Year 1. We met our new teacher, Miss MacWilliam (who we already know of course!), which was really helpful. We made cards for our Year 6 buddies, who are about to embark on a new journey of their own, which we will share with them next week.

We played lots of sports games outside, including Olympics-style events, such as javelin throwing, hurdles and running races. We have done yoga and mindfulness activities too to help cool our bodies in this warm weather.

On Friday, we had a whole day of Forest School! We created magic potions, magic wands and collaborative rainbow art. We also made bug hotels, and checked on them at the end of the day to see how many creepy-crawlies had taken up home in them!

What a wonderful year we have had. On a personal note, I would like to say a huge thank you to all the lovely children in Class R. This is a very special school with wonderful team members and even more amazing students. Class R - you have been hard-working, kind, thoughtful, characterful and we have had such fun with our learning every single day. I hope you all enjoy a wonderful summer and continue to thrive in Year 1.

Lots of love - Miss Hubbard.
