School Uniform
School Uniform List 2023-24
UNIFORM
We believe that we need to have a practical and consistent attitude towards uniform. It is important for the children to have a sense of identity, community and pride in their appearance. Our School Uniform policy reflects this.
Children should wear the following uniform:-
- White or blue polo shirt (with or without logo)
- Royal blue sweatshirt, jumper or cardigan (with or without logo)
- Royal blue school fleece (optional)
- Grey trousers, shorts, skirt or pinafore (or blue and white checked summer dress)
- Plain grey, black or white socks, or plain grey, black or white tights
- Plain black shoes or plain black trainers
Please note that you can buy items with the school logo from Sam Dale’s in the village, but non-logo items are just as acceptable. Woolly hats and cotton sun hats are available with the school logo at Sam Dale’s. Hats without the school logo are also acceptable.
Please ensure that all items of uniform are clearly named. Please also label your child’s coat. This is often forgotten and coats tend to be amongst the most frequently lost items.
We allow children to wear trainers with their uniform so that they can easily engage in outdoor activities, including running around the trim trail. Children can wear either school shoes or trainers on a daily basis. However, we ask that these are plain black and have Velcro fastenings where possible (unless your child is able to tie their own shoe laces). Footwear should be plain, waterproof and practical. No ankle or knee length boots please.
PE kit
Children can wear PE kit on PE days. This saves time and is particularly advantageous for the younger children (changing often takes so long that time for physical exercise is seriously reduced).
Children should wear the following PE kit:-
- Plain t-shirt in their house colour or plain white (with or without logo)
- Navy or black plain shorts/skort, plain dark leggings or jogging bottoms (to wear over shorts if the weather is cold)
- Plain black trainers – preferably with Velcro fastening for younger children (unless they can tie their own laces)
- School royal blue sweatshirt (and/or a plain blue/grey/black hoodie to go over the top during cold weather)
Children will also need a pair of plain black pumps to keep in school (these are particularly useful for gymnastics lessons in the hall, and to provide alternative footwear if their outdoor shoes get very muddy). These need to be clearly named and preferably kept in a named drawstring bag.
Please avoid ‘fashion’ items of PE kit such as crop tops and brightly printed leggings. Football kits are also not acceptable for PE lessons in school.
Pre-loved uniform
Please note that our PTA collect used uniform to be reused and recycled. You can donate this by putting it in the large blue wheelie bin near the Middlewich Road gate on the main playground. Reused items can be purchased via the PTA – please contact the PTA at [email protected].
