Week 37 in Class R

Class: Reception Year: 2023 - 2024

This week, Reception have been thinking all things FOOTBALL. We have been talking about the Euros 2024 and some of England's players, learning about our team. We have read some great stories about football, like 'Kicking A Ball', which is all about a boy who loves kicking a ball more than anything in the world. We have discussed how football is for everyone, no matter your age, ability, gender or race. We have used our craft skills to create pitches and our own 2D footballs and used our maths and writing skills in football-related activities. We also used marbles to create drip paintings, rolling and blowing them across our canvases like Jackson Pollock did.

On Thursday, we released our butterflies! We have watched them grow from caterpillars, into their cocoons and finally into beautiful butterflies. We watched them fly out of their net and into the school grounds. It was brilliant! We showed off our butterfly work in our 'Wonderful Work' assembly on Friday in front of all of Key Stage One.
