Week 30 in Class Ra
Class: Reception Year: 2023 - 2024
This week in Ra we have read 'The Tiger Who Came to Tea', writing some descriptive sentences about tigers and some tea party invitations. The children have written some brilliant sentences about the book, which we will use for our display. Well done Ra!
On Tuesday we had an art day. The children used oil pastels and ink to create some fantastic tiger art. We have put their tiger art on display around our classroom door, they look fantastic!!
In Literacy this week we wrote sentences to describe a tiger. We looked at the Chester Zoo website and learnt some interesting facts. We then choose two of our favourite facts to create a tiger fact file. Next week, we will continue looking at tigers.
In P.E this week the children created different movements to show summer and winter. We practised travelling around the hall safely and learnt how to use different levels in dance. The children have worked in partners this week to put together a summer dance sequence including 3 different movements. I was very impressed with how the children used different levels in their movements.
In Maths this week we have explored how 10 can be composed of two parts. The children have practised using ten frames and dice frames. The children have worked in partners this week to explore all the different ways we can make ten. We also used our subitsing skills to quickly work out how many counters were on our frame.
In our PSHE session this week the children thought about things that make them happy!
This week’s VIP has been Henry. Henry particularly loves P.E and playing in the kitchen! Well done! We enjoyed looking at the yellow team’s show and tell this week.
