Week 15 in Reception
Class: Reception Year: 2023 - 2024
Good afternoon everyone,
What an exciting week with our Nativity performances. The children practised to school at the start of the week with their outfits and did a great job. On Wednesday, it lovely to welcome lots of you to see to see the show. We are incredibly proud of the children and how well they performed and how enthusiastic they were about their role.
This week, we have made Christmas cards for our buddies this week. We used bubble wrap to create Christmas tree prints and then added a star on top. We will deliver these to our buddies next week when they come to spend some time with us.
In Literacy, we read the Jolly Christmas Postman and learnt about story mapping. We made a story map together, ordering the events and then tried to draw some of our own. In Phonics we looked at words ending in “s” and plurals. We have been practising our tricky words in a game of Tricky Word Bingo.
We have been looking at Christmas traditions this week. We discussed how we celebrate Christmas at home? We looked at what food we eat around Christmas, how we decorate our houses, and the importance of spending time with family and loved ones.
Have a lovely weekend and we will see you next week for lots of Christmas fun!
