Ra Summer Week 5
Class: Reception Year: 2020 - 2021
This week we have been reading Augustus and His Smile. We learned that exercise and being outside is a great way of making us feel happier. We retold the story and described the tiger. We thought about the places Augustus went to. We also listened to The Tyger by William Blake and learned the first two lines (ask us if we can remember them).
We practised our cutting skills by making 3d paper tigers and retold the story using props.
In Maths we looked at adding small numbers together. We had a challenge to work out which of the Cuisenaire rods added up to ten.
We have been working on our core skills and balance this week outside.
We have been very lucky to be gifted a huge floor mat of the world. We enjoyed finding out the names of some of the places and flying over them with helicopters and aeroplanes.
We looked at the painting Tiger in a Rainstorm by Henri Rousseau and copied the important parts. Next we added wax pastels. Ms Lackford will put ink over them to make the rain.
