Special Educational Needs

At Holmes Chapel Primary, we are passionate about supporting all our children to achieve their full potential.

Last year, 2017-18, 26 children started the year on the SEN register. 11 of these children were on the register as School Support (their needs are being met through quality first teaching with some additional support), 11 of them as School Focus (their needs are being met though quality first teaching and individual or small group support) and 4 of them with an EHCP (an idividualised plan created alongside Cheshire East).

During the year, all our SEN children made strong progress. 2 children moved from School Focus support to School Support. In addition to this, we were successful in acquiring an EHCP for 3 children during the year. One child with an EHCP left the school. This means that at the end of the summer term we had 25 children on the register - 10 at School Support, 8 at School Focus and 7 with EHCPs.

In November, Cheshire East launched the new SEN Toolkit. Children can also be placed on a First Concerns register and have a one page support profile as part of the School Support tier. By the end of July 2018, we had 3 children with a First Concerns Profile.

Our SEN policy and accessibility plan are within our Inclusion Policy and can be found by clicking here.

Please read our Local Offer of Provision (found at the bottom of this page) to find out more about the ways in which we meet the needs of our pupils with Special Educational Needs.

Please do not hesitate to contact us directly, if you have specific questions about your child's needs.
