Special Educational Needs

At Holmes Chapel Primary, we are passionate about supporting all our children to achieve their full potential.

Last year, 2018 - 19, 20 children started the year on the SEN register. 12 of these children were on the register at SEN Support level (their needs are being met though quality first teaching and individual or small group support) and 8 of them with an EHCP (an idividualised plan created alongside Cheshire East).

During the year, all our SEN children made good progress.

4 children were added to the SEN register at SEN Support Level, to ensure they receive the correct support. In addition to this, we were successful in acquiring an EHCP for 3 children during the year.

Two children with an EHCP left the school to attend a setting where their specialist needs could be met. This means that at the end of the summer term, we had 23 children on the register - 15 at SEN Support Level and 8 with EHCPs. During the Summer holidays, an addition child was given an EHCP.

Children can also be placed on a First Concerns register and have a one page support profile as a step before being placed on the SEN register. At the end of July 2019, we had 18 children with a First Concerns Profile.

Our SEN policy and accessibility plan are within our Inclusion Policy and can be found by clicking here.

Please read our Local Offer of Provision and SEN Report (found at the bottom of this page) to find out more about the ways in which we meet the needs of our pupils with Special Educational Needs.

Please do not hesitate to contact us directly, if you have specific questions about your child's needs.

Our SENCo, Mrs Brown, can be contacted at senco@holmeschapelprimary.cheshire.sch.uk
