Kids Reading!

Thursday 1st March is World Book Day!

This year, the children will be engaging in activities linked to a class book which focuses on the environment. Each class will be designing a front cover, related to their book, which, as a class, they will recreate on their classroom door - each door will look like the front cover of the book. The doors will all be decorated by the end of the day, on World Book Day.

On the Friday (2nd), each class will get the chance to go around school and look at all the classroom doors and vote for their favourite KS1 and KS2 door!

*** Winner to be announced soon! ***

Take a look at the wonderful door designs!

KS2 had a wonderful afternoon on Wednesday 7th February when the author Mark Powers - who has written the Spy Toys series - came to visit us.

Mark engaged with the children through an interesting talk, played a short quiz with them, then gave them the opportunity to ask him a range of questions. Finally, those children who had ordered a book got to meet him and get their book personally signed by him. A very exciting afternoon!
